About Our Club

The Delano Optimist Club of Bakersfield College is a membership organization of college students, who meet regularly to serve the youth of our area. We currently have 15 members all with various backgrounds and interests but all sharing in common a sense of service to the youth of our communities.

The main purpose of our Club is to get out and organize events for our community, most of which are centered around youth.

Programs

• In addition to sharing our interest in helping our youth with others, another interest we share is one of self-improvement, which we accomplish thru our PGI (Personal Growth Involvment) program. 
• Four times a year, we have the opportunity to attend our "Quarterly Meeting" where certified trainers and our own local experts within the Optimist Organization provide information and training not available anywhere else. 

Affiliation

Our Club is a chapter of Zone 11, Pacific South West District, the Optimist International is divided in  clubs, zones, districts, regions and countries. The Headquarters is in St Louis, MO.
